Which motorcycle to pick?
I'm buying a second hand honda cbf 125
and there's two dealer i can buy from, 1st one is £1500 with 4k miles on it and he will willing to give me a rain cover and some rust proof kit for me also promising to spray some ACF50 on for me as well, but it has no MOT on it and also will have to pay extra to get it transfer to mine. 2nd option £995 with 7500 miles on it, scratches on the side, minor thing doesn't really look bad, have MOT and he is willing to throw in a lock as well.
which one would you pick?
Added (1). also for the £995 deal he has got a wet weather tire which is perfect for the british weather
Frankly this dealer sounds like a cowboy, who preys on inexperienced younger riders. I would look further afield.
Or at least find someone (with some experience) who is willing to go with you to take a look at both bikes.
If the MOT was a minor problem they would get it done and increase the value of the bike. What does rust proof kit mean (Hondas are fairly well constructed any rust should be kept at bay by a few minutes work, you can buy your own ACF50 too), a rain cover costs £10, cheaper if you shop around, I have no idea what the transfer fee is.
The £995 bike sounds a better deal, how long is the MOT? Nearly all tyres are fine for wet weather on a small bike as long as the tread is legal depth.
How long a warranty is he offering on these bikes?
How old are the bikes, they must be over three years old to require MOTs?
- You say do I need to keep the Bell helmet the renter wore when he slipped, and crashed my motorcycle? My motorcycle is the 2008? Honda CBR600RR super sport motorcycle. The Cofounder of Riders- Share.Com compensated me the full amount of the motorcycle repairer's written damage estimate. I was also fully compensated for the helmet, which the renter wore when he crashed my motorcycle and my helmet.
- Poor pick up on my Honda CD125K? I'm in the process of restoring an old honda CD125K. Bike doesn't have CDI, and runs on points. I have changed the oil, fixed a new carburetor with a new air cleaner, new spark plugs, etc. But it has very poor pick up on the 1st gear… Engine revs very well but the pick up is really bad. How do i improve this?
- Getting a motorcycle and a motorcycle license? I'm 15 years old. I love motorcycles. I know everything about bikes and shifting and stuff. I do have experience but i have only riden a Honda CG125. Nothing with more power. I'm going to turn 16 next summer and i want to purchase a Kawasaki ninja 300. I want to know how i'm going to buy it and how i'm gonna get the license. I live in New York City by the way. Thanks! i can get a motorcycle learners permit at age 16 in NY so yeah
- How trustworthy are pick n pull cars? I'm thinking about buying a Volvo or Honda from pick n pull and was wondering if a lot of people have come across problems with their car after they bought it from there. Of course I'll have it inspected first but I'd still like to know the chances of getting legitimate good car from there that I wouldn't have to do much to for awhile
