Which three-row family vehicle should we get? - 1
A new 2018 Honda Odyssey or, within the same budget, a used 2017 Lincoln Navigator? The Odyssey would be a new body style but the Navigator would be the "old" body style as the new one just came out in 2018. But would it still be cooler than the Odyssey? Or does the practicality of the Odyssey outweigh the better looks/image of an SUV? We have young kids and do lots of hauling people around.
The Navigator is more of on upscale vehicle. The interior is well-appointed and you won't be ashamed getting the valet to park it at a Four Seasons hotel. But the Honda will serve you very well for all the family needs. Get the Honda.
The Lincoln Navigator is an overpriced Ford Expedition SUV. Get the Honda minivan for the best value for your money, or even better, get the Toyota Sienna.
The Honda Odyssey is the better choice based on your needs.
Something like a Navigator makes aboslutely no sense and is very impractical for families.
A van is much better in every way.
I recommend getting the Toyota Sienna instead of the Honda, the Toyota has a more durable engine (different type of injection) and a better gearbox.
Unless you need to tow something like a boat or a camper fairly often or you really want 4wd, the Odyssey would probably fit your needs better in most other ways. The van has more interior space, gets better fuel economy, is just as fast, rides better, handles better, is easier to get into and out of with the sliding doors, is easier to fit into a standard garage etc.
Styling preference is totally subjective so I can't comment on how well you like one over the other. As for "image", why worry about what someone who ISN'T paying for your car thinks about your car? If you're letting that sort of thing make you buy a car that otherwise doesn't meet your needs as well, you've got bigger problems in life in general - buy the one that best suits YOU, not the one that best suits some judgmental fool who isn't the one who has to live with the vehicle every day.
I suggest the Honda Odyssey
One thing you soon find out about vehicle monikers, is that you pay 'extra' for names like Cadillac, Mercedes Benz, Lincoln, etc. Parts and labor are much higher for vehicles like the '17 Lincoln Navigator because people with money can afford vehicles like the Navigator. The Honda Odyssey isn't real inexpensive, but at least parts and labor would be less expensive for the Honda market. Look at a Consumer Reports magazine that covers these models and see what the customers who own them have experienced as far as reliability and repair costs.
The Navigator you won't regret it. My boss has one, and she took me to lunch last week in it and I fell in love with it. Really dope car
Navigator
- What does P mean on a parking ticket where your vehicle type is written? As in: Vehicle GRY HOND P? I received a parking ticket and really can't afford to pay it! My friend told me I should look for typos on the ticket in order to contest it. On the ticket where the vehicle type is listed, the line reads: "Vehicle GRY HOND P". I do own a grey honda, but I was not sure what the P stood for? I tried to google but couldn't find anything - please help!
- Small family car for learning to drive? Hi, I was wanting some help to do with what car to buy. The basic rundown is that I'm wanting a car a 17 year old can learn to drive in, so there's the obvious of low insurance, safety and reliability etc. It needs five seats as it will also be used as a general family car and can be up to about £6000. I have been looking around and so far am leaning towards the Honda Jazz, but any advice on the subject would be very much appreciated.
