Is this a good used SUV?

225,000 miles

I'm not a fan of the Pilot, it's not one of the better products Honda makes. Love the CRV.

225,000 miles is a lot of miles. I wouldn't spend $3,500 on that car.

No

Even though Honda vehicles are of good quality and built to last with 225k it is in its eleventh hour. Certainly is not worth $3,500 with that amount of mileage. Maybe half that if you are willing to risk purchasing a vehicle which is nearing retirement.

That's a whole lot of miles, even for a Honda.

Its great. Until you need a motor or transmission and either would be over $3000.

See the risk?

Test drive it thoroughly. Look for smoke at the end of the test. A big rev up when stationary will blow out smoke if the engine is shot. Those are huge miles and unless the car has been driven carefully and serviced properly it could be $3500 down the drain. Ask to see the servicing records as sometimes they can't be found! If in any doubt walk away.

It was in 2007. Have it checked by a mechanic. Nobody on here can do that at the keyboard.

Too much money for a car with too much mileage. Find another vehicle.

That is a lot of miles, but the price is pretty reasonable. Have it checked out very thoroughly

  • What is a good SUV for a young male? Hey I'm looking to buy a new or slightly used SUV that should have AWD as I live in a snowy climate. I can spend under total of $26k and want something lively and young not old man or soccer mom. I want to stay away from anything too foreign because there would be limited service in my area. I've been looking at the Chevy Trax, Honda HRV and Jeep Renegade. Is there anything else I should be considering and what are your thoughts on those?
  • What a good car for 4000 dollors or lower. Used? Can't be a honda. -has to be a reliable car brand -automatic -gets to be a guy car I was thinking about a scion tc but i don't think i can afford it
  • Is there anywhere to buy a good used Honda engine that s not a scam? Reviews on the internet show that most of the company's and salvage yards sell junk and won't honor their warranties if they offer one.
  • Want to buy a used SUV on Craigslist, anything I should be mindful of? I'm looking to buy a 2015/2016 Toyota RAV4 or Honda CRV from a random stranger on Craigslist. I'm not good with cars, so is there anything specific I should check and make sure nothing is wrong with the vehicle? Or would a 2015/2016 still be considered so new that there should be no major concerns?
