What do these indicator lights mean?
I have a 2010 Honda Pilot EX. These lights came on when I started my car. Please tell me what they mean. I had to rush into work. No time to look in the owner's manual. Thanks!
VSA indicates stability assist is off.
VTM-4 indicates traction control is off.
The one on the far left is the engine management fault light - sorry do not know what the other 2 yellow ones are but they will be connected with the Enigine management fault
Green ones are just to tell you lights are on outside the car
A fault exists and there will be a fault code stored in the cars system that can be read to find what the fault is.
The car should not be driven other than to get it to a place of repair or further damage and expense will occur
Expect possible reduced engine performance
Check for code first. As I have seen most of the time on Honda Pilot in the same era, the Variable Torque controller (System calls VTM-4) has detected a problem during the processing of distribute the driving torque between the front and rear wheels (To be in short description of the system). You'll need a scanner to read out the code(s) or the data to see the sensor signal at each wheel to indicate the sensor and the tone ring are good.
Most of the times as I've seen when these lights lit up (As they have always lit up together, sometimes with the ABS light) is the result of a failed WWS (Wheel Speed Sensor), besides the possible failed sensor(s), check that tone ring for rust, grimes build up etc. Check the wiring, connector, make sure the gap between the sensor tip and the tone ring is correct.
I would find out the code(s) and if the code indicate one of the WSS, swap it to the next wheel and see if the code follow, sometimes the wire will have a break where it flexes the most. If the sensor is at fault. I would replace the sensor with a Honda OEM part. HTH
Edit: Hope it help and if you have more question or want to give me the update what you'll find out (Codes or anything else) or need more information: E mail me. HTH
