Do you have to use premium gas in a four stroke Honda outboard? - 1

No

I suppose that depends on WHICH Honda outboard motor you use. MOST marine engines prefer that you DO NOT use gasoline containing ethanol, and you MAY have to buy premium grade gas just to get something without the ethanol.

Honda fuel recommendations- 87 octane (regular) gasoline with no more than 10% ethanol. This applies to all Honda outboards from 2004 forward.

Not unless it says so. If you use fuel higher than recommended it can lead to engine fouling and backfiring.

If the hand book say so then YES!
