Should we have to pay more?
First of all I'll explain my living conditions. My husband and I decided to move into a zoo(two cousins, one(Cousin B) has 3 kids the other(Cousin A) 3 kids and 2 teens).Love my family but that's a lot of kids. We live in my cousin A's 6 bedroom house, I think the rent is fair for what we have which is: the smallest bedroom & upstairs bathroom we share w/everyone.
We buy our own food and EVERYTHING we need(we don't use the living room/kitchen it's always a mess). She agreed to $500. My cousins would each pay $800(rent is $1600). Our plan was to live here 6mnths while saving for our own place but sh** happens(details in the next paragraph). Also every month my cousin A will ask if I can "help" her out w/bills($100) this has been happening about every two mnths and I want to say NO. In 6 months she got a new car and bought 4 iPhones for her teens, plus her samsungs.
My husband(big rig local trucker) had to find a new job cos his hrs were getting cut in half. He found a better job but 3 months into it had an accident at work and tore his meniscus and acl. Same month: my alternator & battery went out(BMW Total cost$600) a month after, his car was stolen & cost $300 to get it out impound and towed home cos the clutch was completely blown out($350 to fix thanks him& Honda enthusiast friends). **** us right?
8 mnths later we're still here. We've not had any chance to really save for moving expenses: $2500(Deposit+1st months rent) we live in SanDiego, Ca Good weather blah blah…
In 8 months, you guys haven't managed to save $2500? On what I assume was two incomes and only $500/month rent?
I get that hubby had an injury, but since it occurred at work, he likely qualified for worker's comp and/or disability. You should have also had insurance that covered the gap and expenses.
Yeah, you had a few sucky months. I'm really sorry for that. But, I'm not sure how you guys are going to manage any future emergencies once you get into your own place. You have no savings and are living paycheck to paycheck.
Should you have to pay more? I don't see who is asking you to pay more, other than the owner of the house asking for help with utilities.
What cousin A is doing with her money is NONE of your concern. It sounds like she's helping you out by offering you a room under FMV.
If utilities are under $500 total, ask her to prorate it per person and pay two shares. I don't think asking for help on utilities is extreme.
No, you should not have to pay more, but you may not have a choice. If you can't afford your own place then what option do you have other than a cardboard box under a bridge
The landlord (Cousin A) has a right to raise the rent annually, not just for the H*ll of it when ever she decides to. Do not pay more than agreed. $500 is it. Tell her with the car repairs and everything, you are in debt and you are paying it back monthly so you have none to spare.
I will send money when you get cancer of the cun_T and forgot to pay obamacare
- What should I pay for a Honda pilot? I'm looking to purchase a 2015 Honda pilot…( basic model) what is a fair price that I should pay? I don't want these dealerships ripping me off
- How much should I pay to replace the AC compressor on a 2010 Honda Odyssey? The air conditioning on my wife's minivan recently went out. I had her take it to a mechanic expecting a refill situations costing less than $100. When they got back to us they said the clutch would not engage on the AC and it required replacement costing over 1100 dollars. I've seen the part online for $250 to 450. How much is reasonable to pay for this repair? Would I be better off buying the part online and having someone else install it? I'm told the job is about 3 hours.
- How much should I pay for a 1980 Honda cx500? Needs battery and carb clean, with 55K miles. Dallas, tx? I'm looking forward to my first motorcycle, and I think I found one… It's a 1980 Honda CX500, it has 55K miles on it and it also needs a battery, and they also said just a carb clean… It also needs inspection sticker, and they said it will pass with ease… How much should I pay for a bike like this? I live in Texas if that makes a difference.
- Does being a security guard have okay pay? I'm planning on getting a cheap motorcycle when i graduate, like a honda cbr 250 off craigslist and I'm wondering if the pay of a security guard would be able to afford its insurance and 250$ of rent per month. (My roommate and i are gonna split it) How much money do you guys think i might have left over? I know this is a extremely broad question but just make assumptions to fill in the blanks because I'm not even there yet.
