What does a engine knock coming from bottom of a 1993 del sol mean?
I'm thinking of getting a 93 Honda del sol but need to know what a knock at the lower part of the engine could mean
If it's a LOW frequency whub whub whub, that's the main bearing on the crank.
If it's a fast clicking sound, then it's likely a problem in the valve train, lifter, valve… Ect
Oil is cheap, engines are expensive. CHECK THE OIL!
It means new engine, in other words walk away.
It means the engine needs a complete overhaul. That would cost more than the car is worth. Walk away.
It means the person is selling the car before the engine blows, and doesn't want to spend the money for a rebuilt engine.
- Turbo on my honda del sol? I got a 5 speed 93 del sol and i'm inlove with the sound cars with turbo make when people shift. That "pshh" sound like air or gas. Lol i don't know. But is it possible to get that on my delsol? And if so, what do i need to buy? Where to install? And what are the prices?
- How to make my VTEC del sol faster? I was lucky enough to find a 95 honda Del Sol VTEC with only 97000 miles for 2500 a few weeks ago, what do you suggest performance wise? I don't have thousands to spend but would like it to have a noticeable increase in power. It's almost completely stock still.

The guy I bought the car from said the flywheel is bad. I took it to a shop they said automatics do not have flywheels. Now the 2nd shop says the starter is out and possibly the flywheel. I need to know if i should purchase both the starter and flywheel or just the starter?
- Roof rack on 95 del sol? I've been trying to find a way to get a roof rack on my 95 honda del sol. I know thule used to make a fit kit but they have been discontinued and are pretty rare. Does anyone know where I could find a kit? Otherwise I was thinking of going to a salvage yard and pulling metal side rails off another car and cutting them shorter and welding them back together. Any input or ideas/where to find the kit?
