Which car battery is better? EverStart Maxx Lead or Duralast Gold/Battery?

Facts: I drive a 2007 Honda SE, 4 cylinder. Been using a Kirkland (costco battery; group size 51r) for about 5 years. Looking for a battery in case this one dies.

Here's the deal.

There are three major battery manufacturers
in the US and Mexico:

Delphi (Delco) --- or whatever they're calling it this week.
Identifiable by the lack of removable caps
(with the possibility of a few exceptions)
and a single "eye" in the top.

Exide.
Identified by normal (sharp or barely-rounded)
corners on the two three-cell caps.

Johnson Controls.
Identified by the "cut" corners on the two three-cell caps.
My latest one also has an "eye", which makes me wonder a little.

All three of these companies make the vast majority of car batteries
you will see in the US, applying the brand and other characteristics
chosen and paid for by the marketer.

Interstate is the brand under which Johnson Controls markets its own products.

Typically, price-cutting marketers like Costco offer batteries
with lower cold-cranking ampere ratings than they might, so before you buy,
find out the CCA and compare that along with the price.

Also, if you want a cheap battery, go directly to a battery dealer
and see what you can get.

My present battery is a Johnson Controls / Motorcraft group 65
that was deeply discharged when it was nearly new.
Proper recharging brought it back to life.
I paid $30 for it.

Whatever else you do, don't buy a car battery
and then leave it sitting around unused.

The Duralast gold has a 5 year warranty thus it probably has the best quality.

Go to Walmart and get a Maxx, they are very good.

I used to get Duracrap, both died after 20 months in 2 different cars and AZ gave me grief when I wanted to replace it right before I was going to take the car on a 2 week road trip. Needless to say I shall not return there. I went to Costco and got their Kirkland/ Interstate that was 35 months ago still going strong. New Duracrap $130 Interstate $84.99
