Why don't some people like a Honda car?
It seems like some people dislike Honda. Why don't they? What's your opinion? I think it's a great brand. Hondas are well built and built to last in my opinion.
I don't like a Honda car but that does not really mean anything. I will be first in line to say Honda is a very good car, Its just means I don't care to own one.
Maybe people don't like Hondas because they have something else. They came up with an ingenious CVCC design which was revolutionary. Superb performance, excellent economy, and very reliable. I've had a few, and they're great cars.
IMHO Honda's are great. They are listed as one of the most safest reliable cars in the world. Plus, the Honda brand is well-known and respected in the industry.
Take a look at the photo. Awesome, isn't it?
I've never met anyone who hates Hondas. Of course, some people prefer Toyota, or just insist on driving a "murican" car, but relatively few people actually dislike Honda. Most people simply dislike Hondas that look like this:
I don't think most people hate Honda's but rather are just annoyed at the children who make them look silly and sound like a lawn mower.
FYI, I have owned Two Accords and Two Integras in the past, I have driven over 700,000 miles in Hondas.
No accounting for some people's tastes
Honda had a bad decade from 1998-2008. From 1998-2004 the automatic transmissions failed at an alarming rate, producing The Great Honda Automatic Transmission Debacle. By 2005 Honda began to get a grip on that problem but in 2006 they had a run of porous Civic engine blocks (through 2007). In 2008 Honda decided to adjust the front/rear braking balance, with the result that rear brakes were lasting 15K miles or less… A problem that was fixed midway through the 2009 model year.
Accords got the worst of it. Carcomplaints.com rates the 1998-2004 Accords "Avoid like the plague," the 2005 as "Beware the clunker," the 2006 and 2007 as "Pretty good, " but it was back to "Avoid like the plague" for 2008 and "clunker" for 2009. Carcomplaints has the 2003 Accord rated as the second worst vehicle on their site.
Since then Honda has been doing well but I will have them on my "do not buy new" list for 6 more years. Most disturbing is that they allowed each of those serious problems to drag on for years. I was active in Honda forums in that era and I remember the anguish of several people who had been through two transmission replacements under extended warranty and a third they had to pay for themselves… All within the first 100K miles. I'm happy for those who have had good service, but not everybody was so lucky.
- Why don't people buy a real car? It's crazy with all the money people dump into a car they could of saved up an bought a real sports or muscle car. Instead they'd buy a Honda, Volkswagen, or Mitsubishi. An waste money from car lowering it, buying bodykits or horrible rims that don't even help with performance. Can't forget a big spoiler, painted rims or a painted hood. Or cheap aftermarket parts. Like honestly why not save up a little drive a pos an leave it the way it is?
- Why don't more people buy Subaru? You just can't get a better deal for an AWD vehicle under $30,000. They are just as reliable as Nissan and Honda and have good mpg. Please no anti-Japanese car remarks, boring does not count as an answer.
- Why do some people buy new cars to save gas? It seems like people complain about high gas prices so they go and buy these expensive gas saving cars. Usually a Honda or Toyota hybrid that's about $35,000 dollars. So what's the point of buying the car if you just wasted all that money. You could have just used that money for gas. Don't you think it's better to just buy a cheap $1,000 dollar Honda and save all that money for gas? Because buying the new car you pretty much threw all the money away.
- What are some sites where people rent out their own personal cars? I'm thinking of one, but I forgot the name of it. You'd have a list of people renting their cars out in your area. You could rent anything from a 15yo Honda with a manual trans to newer Teslas and BMWs. Any similar rental services?
