Will this improve my cars performance?
So my car is a 2003 Honda Element 4 speedauto awd. Son two nights ago I was driving on a highway late at night around 1am in the morning and as there were hardly any cars around me, I was able to cruise at a good 85 mph. I had a long stretch of a highway in front of me so cruising at that speed, I decided to get on the gas to see what my Honda can top out at.
In attempt of doing so, at 85 mph it didn't seem to really struggle at that speed but when I gave it gas it was able to reach 90-95 mph. So finally I put the gas to the floor and I was only able to get it to 100 mph, it would no go past that speedometer but the. Again I only had a 1/2 mile of road space left in front of me. The engine was still happily up to redline(close to it) but the car would not speed up any faster. So the next day, I took my car to get a diagnostic check for performance issues that I might be having, there are three things that are wrong with my car.
They said I have to replace my o2 sensors, need new fresh spark plugs and most importantly I need an cleaning service called a '3 part fuel induction service' done on my car.
Will resolving these symptoms make a difference in my cars overall performance(being able to easily achieve top speed of 110)And my car only has 140,000 miles which isn't much to brag about cuz I see videos of ppl with there mileage over 200k and there car still can hit top speed.
If you have a car that can reach 90 with ease be happy with that. Once you get up into the magic three numbers all kinds of brown smelly stuff starts coming your way.
1) Law Enforcement officers become very interested.
2) You are putting unnecessary stress on an already worn engine and transmission
3) Your steering and suspension is also going to start complaining.
It won't hurt fitting new spark plugs and giving the car a general service.
O2 sensors tend to be very expensive.
A '3 part fuel induction service' sounds a good way to get you to part with more money.
Should you spend all that money you will still have a 16 year old brick.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
If your tach is at redline, nothing will add something to the engine to make it any faster.
Again, fix you o2 sensor issue and don't hammer on a 16 year old vehicle.
Probably just downshifted when you stomped on it btw.
Also, in a brick like the Element, a bit of wind will drastically reduce performance at speed.
WTF would you ever want to go 110 in a Honda Element is beyond me. Taking your life in your hands like this is stupid.
A Honda Element has the aerodynamic characteristics of a big box. Try making it more rounded on the front and rear. That'll improve your performance.
It's an ELEMENT, for ****'s sake. It's not a performance car. It's a miracle you got it up to 100 at all. Don't waste your money.
- What can I do to my car to improve it's look? I have a 2003 honda element. I already put a new grille on it and running boards. What can I do to it to improve it's appearance both interior and exterior?
- Why is it that some husbands let their wives drive luxury cars while they drive ordinary cars? I've been observing some of my neighbors (one of them is a stay at home mom) and the husbands drive ordinary cars like Honda Accord or Honda Pilot. But the wives tend to drive luxury cars like Acura TSX or Acura RDX (some form of luxury car). What is the reason for this? Why do wives get to drive luxury cars while the husband drives ordinary car? I should say some of them. Its not a problem though but was only curious. The neighbors are Asians actually.
- Is it better to sell Cheap cars or Expensive cars? As a car salesman? Some people would think cheap cars but people with bad credit get declined often. I know this because my credit sucks and i'm almost always declined for cars. I'm sure this makes it tougher to get a sale right? This has me thinking, i want to sell cars. Should selling luxury cars like mercedes and bmw be better than selling hondas and toyotas?
- Looking into buying a used car. Which cars should I avoid and which cars should I pursue? I'm looking into the following Honda Civic years 2005-2010 Honda Fit years 2007-2010 Toyota Corolla years 2005-2010 Toyota Yaris years 2007-2010 Toyota Echo years 2005
