200 Honda Accord's SRS Light is On. Why?

The light came on last night. I had to have my battery replaced today. Did the low battery power trigger the light? I know it has something to do with the airbags, and is expensive to fix, if it is actually a real problem. I also heard it may be covered under the warranty, but… My car has a lot of miles on it. I don't think it will pass state inspection with this light on. I'm a little worried…

If your state has a safety inspection, I doubt it will pass.

Any major auto parts store (Autozone, Advance, O'Reillys, etc) can scan for OBDII faults at no charge. Resetting may do it.

200 Accord or 2000?

It certainly won't pass inspection with the light on. The SRS consists of the airbags, the sensors for those and the seat belt latches. The common cause is the drivers side seat belt latch. All components are under lifetime warranty here in the states, but you need to take it to a dealer to get it scanned and diagnosed. A good dealer, one that isn't in the ripoff business, won't charge you for the scan either. I've had two seat belt latches replaced at no cost to me on my 2000.
