2006 Honda Accord Coupe Door Stuck?

I have a 2006 Honda Accord coupe and I have never had any previous problems regarding the doors. Yesterday, I parked and tried to get out but the door would not open from the inside or the outside. When you try opening from the outside, it feels like there's no resistance so something must have gone wrong internally. From the inside, the door handle juts out slightly and has no resistance either. You can push the door handle in to the proper position but if you try pulling on it again to open the door it returns to the slightly outward position. Can someone give a detailed explanation of what is wrong? In addition, how much would the dealership or an autobody charge for such a repair?

That's very strange in your case: It's the door latch assembly that is in need of replacement. Any repair facility would charge about 1.0 to 1.5 hours in labor in your area

It sounds like one of two things. The rod has come off of the clip on the door handle or the power door lock actuator is froze up and preventing the door handles from opening.A defective actuator keeps the door locked internally even if you insert the key and try to lock/unlock it. Even if the lock knob is in the up or unlocked position, it can still be locked through the actuator. You'll have to remove the inside door panel to access the door handle rod and actuator. If you know how to use a slim jim, that may get the door open. One last component that needs to be checked is the door latch and striker assembly, but the door will have to be opened before you can inspect it. The latch assembly can stick causing the door handles to be useless. It can be sprayed with silicone based penetrating oil or graphite lubricant, which is a powdery metal looking substance
