How to fix a Positive Battery Terminal that is cracked in half on a 2005 Honda Accord?

So basically, my cars been dead for the past few days and I finally went and tried to boost it up this morning with my girlfriends car. For some reason, it was not holding a charge and my car was still not turning on after leaving the jumper cables on for a few minutes. I adjusted them and the car started to get a charge but it wouldn't crank all the way on. So I went back to my batter and noticed that the positive terminal is cracked in half. Not the clamps but the actual silver nipple looking thing on the actual battery. I'm not exactly sure if that's what's causing it not to hold a charge but if it is, is there anyways I can replace it or fix it? I know it's alittle hard since it's on the actual battery but I don't know much about cars lol so I'm not sure if you can actual take those off and replace or fix them.

The terminal is physically fused to the plates. You can't repair that.

If it's cracked and you are having battery issues, there's a serious defect with that battery. Toss it and get a new one.

Yeah, that battery is toast

That's like trying to butter mouldy bread. Get a new loaf/battery.

Even a split terminal should still be connected so it ought to charge up if it is ever going to.
The only reason your battery would not take a charge, based on what you've told us, is the terminal has broken off inside the battery (in which case it can't be fixed) or else the battery is too old and will never take a charge anyway. Either way, you need a new battery.

Sorry, it will be expensive. I found I can buy a car battery on-line and collect it from the car-parts supplier (a 'motor factor' in the UK) for about half the price of buying one from a car store or garage so maybe that is an option for you.

I would get a new battery. You chances of getting battery acid all over the engine bay has just increased. Would you rather pay the $100+ for a battery now, or hundreds or maybe thousand of dollars later on when that battery leaks or possibly explode.

You need a new battery

You describe a damaged battery.
clean it to find if that is right.
very unusual.
silver nipples?
Maybe santa knows.
have you been very good this year?
otherwise, show it to your technician.
Or give it to the parts counter for inspection and testing.
buy new cable ends as you find needed.
Test the charging system, and amp draw sitting.
Think back to whom or what could be the cause of this perplexing dilemma. That haadly ever happens
