My 1977 Honda CB400F oil pan cracked?
I'm having trouble finding a new one. I was wondering if there are other years that are compatible or if there's just a good way to fix it.
I'm sure a skilled welder could patch it up.
If you don't want to hire a welder or can't find a replacement for the oil pan. Have you ever heard the name JB Weld?:

I'm not going to use JB Weld. I don't need to lose all my oil while driving down the freeway.
- 1977 Honda GL1000, selling, don't know how much? I'm trading my "ruckus clone" that is basically a project that failed horribly on my end. Said he will trade his 1977 Honda GL1000 for my scooter. He said that the only problem with the GL1000 is that it needs the carbs cleaned… Which isn't really much of a problem, easy solve. But if thats the real case, not much rust, only needs the carbs cleaned, how much could I sell this bike for… Depending if I don't fall in love with it and keep it for myself.
- Cracked top of Honda engine block. Looks repaired but how long will this last? Bought a used car 1 year ago. It runs fine and no problems. Took the car it for an oil change and mechanic noticed a leak. He took off the oil pan and found this. Oh the joys of buying a used car… Looks repaired but how long will this last? Honda quoted me $6000 to repair it… Can I keep running the car like this? Thanks Dan! This is a photo taken from the top. Timing chain to the right
- Sell this car or keep it? I have a 2008 honda civic with 150k miles. Recently, it had a cracked engine block? Honda honored the extended warranty and fixed this at no cost to me. I now have a brand new engine with no miles on it. Is this the start of several repairs, and should I sell it? Or should I keep this car?
- Oil Change: Honda Motor Oil Vs Generic oil, does it make a difference? I have been getting oil changes with Honda motor oil for 15 years on my 2002 civic that now has 132K miles. If I switch to a generic $10 oil change garage shop will it still be ok? I know the Honda filters are better then the cheapest generic ones but how about the actual motor oil?
