I hear a noise from under the front of my car whenever i hit any bumps its a 1992 honda accord ex?

Could my shocks be bad?

Yes and so could many bushes and bearings. One thing for sure - only a physical inspection will determine the problem and internet diagnosis never will.

On a 25 year old car it could be anything.

The usual cause is bad stabilizer bar bushings. You can get a free visual inspection and estimate wherever front end repairs are done.

Avoid the bumps you silly driver

In those years the coil springs would break and still stay in place. The stabilizer bar ends get sloppy and or break making a racket. Could be any number of things. Get a flashlight and bend down to look. Push down on the fender and listen up.

? What does the noise sound like, is it a squeak, thump, bang, groan, grind, rattle. A bit more info please

  • Hit a pothole, car makes scratching noise on bumps? I hit a pothole going about 50 mph on a highway entrance ramp. Car drives fine but on any sort of bump/dip in the road, the car makes a scratching/grinding noise from the left front tire (the tire that hit the pothole). It's an 05 Honda pilot, not lowered. What do y'all think it might be?
  • What damage is possible from a construction cone riding under the front portion under the car? I was traveling doing about 55 mph and could not swerve to avoid hitting a construction cone. It hit under my car and dragged until I could pull over and pry it loose. I could not see too well under the car. I have a Honda Fit
  • My car won't move in any gear under its own power but rolls in park while making a grinding noise I drive a 08 Honda Civic LX automatic. Yesterday I tried to take off from a stop and heard a loud metal snapping sound followed by loud grinding. Then it wouldn t move under its own power in any gear even reverse. It starts just fine, even idles as if nothing s wrong, will rev too. I have to have the emergency brake on because it rolls in park. In park it also makes grinding noises.
  • My car makes a weird noise when I hit a bump, what is it? Every time I hit a bump or a dip or something that isn't flat my cars makes a noise around the right front tire. It kind of sounds as if someone is kicking a can. My best guess is that its the strut, but I don't want to risk a big fix like that if that's not it. What do you guys think? Or suggest. 1998 Honda Civic LX
