Muffler effect air conditioner?
I may be way off on this but I'm basically running out of answers/options with this. So I have an old car (1996 Honda Accord) and I've had it for a year or so. The only problems with the car is that there's a hole in the muffler that causes it to make a loud noise when turning on and while driving it (not the biggest issue). The issue is is that my air conditioner would be cool for about 15-20 minutes then basically give out and just blow out air. Does anyone know if the hole in the muffler would effect it? If not does anyone know if any way i could fix this? The antifreeze is fine btw, got it checked already.
The AC system may be low on freon. Check the charge level. That hole should not effect the AC, so it is just another problem showing up at the same time.
No relationship between the two. The AC symptom you have is often due to the evaporator core freezing and blocking the air flow after a while. May just need some refrigerant, or may have a bad low pressure sensor.
The A/C has it's own separate motor & gas system that has nothing to do with the muffler, antifreeze etc… The system probably needs re-gassing & to be checked for leaks. Could also mean the Pump (or A/C motor) is jamming or failing.
No, not at all
The muffler has nothing to do with, and no connection to, the A/C.
Not related at all
What you describe with the AC is common if you are low on refrigirante
Sounds more like a NON-muffler effect.
An a/c technician needs to diagnose your problem. It initially involves the standard pressure gauge set, to observe how the system is operating. Further diagnosis might involve using a voltmeter to monitor the electrical control system.
Other than that, there's no sensible guessing.
The antifreeze has nothing to do with the loud muffler or the intermittent a/c.
Your 1996 Honda is old? Then what is my 1969 Chevelle?
No relation with the two. The muffler is gonna have to be duct taped or something. I've seen mechanics duct tape these sort of problems. But the A/C, you need to have a mechanic see that.
- I have a 2015 Honda rancher that had a crack in the air box. It got so much dirt through the air filter it got into my piston. So it now Burns oil and I was wonder will it ever stop smoking. I know I have to rebuild the engin so don't even say it. And how long will it take before it losses power.
- How to make my 2007 honda crv louder by exhaust/muffler? I have a 2007 honda crv and I'm not aloud to get a car, so I gotta do something to it haha, I wanna make it nice and loud to roll with a little more style. If I wanna make it sound good when accelerating, do I need a whole new exhaust system or could I do this with just a new muffler. And what are your suggestions for what brand I should get.
- Black stuff on my bumper around muffler? I have a 1998 honda civic dx, we just rebuilt the motor, my car has lack of power which I considering it the distributor because as I'm picking up speed it cuts out power like it's not getting enough spark to about 3000rpms then picks up instantly. Do you have any suggestions? Am I wrong about the lack of power and it cutting out about I being my distributor? And what could cause the black stuff on my bumper around my exhaust
- Adding a turbo or supercharger for a daily driven car? Will it effect my mpg drastically? I've recently got a car and we'll it really isn't my taste. I've been driving civic's, integras, preludes and flooring them to the limit and well now I'm stuck with a family car, 2016 Honda Hrv but it is a Manual 6 speed. It only has 140hp I want to bump to around at least 200hp. Maybe even make it a sleeper. If I do pick a turbo or supercharger what parts should I upgrade for it?
