My 97 Honda Accord SE 2.2l L4 has problems starting sometimes?

If I leave the car off overnight, or after it's been sitting for a few hours. It'll start right up. If I drive to the store, go inside for 15-20 minutes, come out and try to start. You can hear it click, but it doesn't start. After a few turns it usually starts up, but it's gotten worse at times, had to try for about 20 minutes until it finally started. It's making me worry thinking I'm going to be stuck somewhere. Do you guys have any idea what it could possible be? (I checked my battery, and it's fully charged. Starter is good, just got a new ignition switch and my alternator is good as well) my battery terminals are brand new too.

There's a tool for re-cutting both the battery terminal clamps and the battery posts.
not expensive but very useful.
more so with Asian cars,
for some reason?
Anyhoo,
ten min's spent with this tool will probably improve the situation,
Unless one or more of the clamps is past it,
simple test is can you twist the clamp round when it's on the battery?
if you can it's shot.
I'm at the stage that when one like this comes in most times I start by renewing the terminal clamps,
it happens that better than 90% of them have faulty clamps.

  • Starting problems Honda c100? I have recently restored a Honda c100 and now can't start it. The best I can get is a slow tick over for about 20seconds if I have the choke and throttle fully open. This to me says to much fuel. I have changed the fuel hoses and the new ones had a slightly bigger bore diameter. These go from the tank to the tap on the carb. Would this be causing my problems or does the tap restrict the flow anyway.
  • 98 honda 600cbr starting problems? Bought it off a guy. Has been sitting for about 2 months. Has fuel.new spark plugs. Clean the carbs. Just keeps turning and won't start. Does give back fire when trying to start for 20 second or more. What could it be?!
  • I rebuilt my honda eu3000is carb, and now it smoke a few minutes after starting. It has only 50 hours or so? I cleaned out some green slime from the carb bowl, and cleaned out the main jet. Then, put it all back together. Did I miss something in the re-assembly? It runs good, just smokes.
  • Every time I stop to get gas in my 2003 Honda element, it has trouble starting? My car recently had a completely new engine put in and now when I get gas it takes a few tries to get it started. So I put a new battery in and now I have to put my foot on the gas pedal while starting it for it to start. But it's only when I stop to get gas this happens. Every time other than that it starts just fine, no problem at all. Does anyone have any ideas what is going on?
