What would be causing my brake pedal to pulsate when braking?
I just recently changed my front rotors, brake pads, and wheel bearings on my 96 Honda accord LX. I also replaced the rear drum shoes, wheel cylinder, and the drum on both sides. Ever since I replaced all that, at times I have to put a bit more effort on the brake pedal to stop. I bleed the brakes all around already so there's no air in the system. I also feel a little bit of vibration when driving on the highway and feel a little bit of pulsating on the brake pedal when pressing the pedal to stop. I'm thinking it's the front calipers that might be getting stuck but what someone else s opinion.
It is. So they are next to be replaced
Brakes don't cause any vibration when the brakes are not being applied so if you are feeling vibration when driving on the highway the problem is likely tire or wheel related. Cupped tires, bent wheel or out of balance.
Warped rotor could happen by unevenly or over tightening lugs. Use a torque wrench.
Replace the calipers and master cylinder.
- What's wrong with my car's brake pedal? I noticed something a week after I bought this used Honda car (the dealer I trust a lot). It only happens when I'm driving very slow on a side street, when stopping at a stop sign… When I push down on the pedal, the pedal goes down but I hear and feel a slight click before I push it all the way down. So it happens halfway as I'm pressing on the brake. It stops perfect and no break issues. Any ideas what this is?
- 2000 rear brakes on odyssey van knock when braking? I recently changed the rear drum brakes with new shoes and drums on my 2000 Honda Odyssey Van and now they knock when I apply the brakes. The noise matches the rotational speed of the tires as if something is on the tires.
- Is a squeaking noise when you let off the brake pedal in your car a serious problem? Whenever I let off the brake pedal in my Honda, I hear a squeak noise. Is this something that likely just needs to be lubricated/cleaned on the brake mechanism, or is it signs of a more serious problem? It is not the brake pads; those have been replaced recently. Is this something I need fixed As soon as possible, (possible brake failure) or is it something that just simple (not serious ) maintenance?
- My rear lights don't come on when light switch its turn on. They only turn on when i press the brake pedal? (same with the cluster assmbly) on my 1992 honda civic 4 door. All bulbs are good. Just replaced all fuses.
