Would a used or new Dodge challenger SXT be good for my first car?
Hi, I'm 16 year old male highschool and I just got my license and am looking to buy a first car, preferably muscle because that's my life right there and I think owning a Dodge Challenger as a first car instead of let's say a used Honda accord or even new would just define me as a person. I understand that I'm a new driver and there are things to be put into consideration, but I don't want to be a part of the "don't get a nice car for your first" norm. Also, what would the insurance for a vehicle like that be? I live in North Carolina. And do challengers get good gas mileage, etc? I heard they were pretty alright on that type of stuff. I don't want one to be fast/cool, I want it to show that I love American Muscle cars.
I say why not? If you can afford it. If your parents make like 200k a year and can buy it for you. Then go ahead.
Terrible idea. Did you know I just turned 17 and won't get a car until the summer I graduate? Having a car is a privilege, and no way should your first car be a Dodge Challenger that can hardly be trusted with.
No. A sports car for a first car is a bad idea.
LOL! Nice try skipper. There's not an insurance company on the planet that would even consider insuring you
At 16 years old, you and your family will not be able to afford the insurance on this car. Besides, it's an FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) car, an Italian company. It's not reliable, which is not cool. However, if you are a ignorant speed-obsessed, know-nothing-about-cars kid, go for it -- and pay the price.
Hi kid so here is the issue old gas guzzlers like this muscle car take money to own and run as they need more fuel and break down a lot. So your image is not the issue. It your small mind which is the issue here.
Bad plan
Sure, if you are independently wealthy.
I'm guessing you don't have a great job.
- What would be a good mileage for a used car? I'll be 16 soon and want to get my car as soon as possible… I'm looking at hondas from 2012-ish, what would be a good mileage? Is 50k a lot for the age? Would I want something with less mileage?
- Wanted to know how good of a car the challenger r/t scat pack is? Was curious about the launch control and if the car has any common mechanical issues and such and how it handles currently i drive a 2011 honda v6 coupe but the 485 hp challenger got my attention since i'm almost done paying off my honda
- I got a challenger sxt v6 deleted the mufflers and it sounds raspy like a honda? I recently deleted my mufflers on my v6 2015 challenger and it sounds too high pitched like a pop can. I have a cold air intake I'm going to install. Will that help make it a little deeper tone? Also will adding long tube headers help make it deeper? Any help is appreciated
- Which car is the right choice? Civic or Challenger? So I'm looking for a nice decent car. A 2012 Honda Civic Coupe or a 2012 Challenger? What r your guys opinion? Like the looks, gas, maintenance etc. I was thinking civic cuz or gas and it's light weight so it can be fast. But the challenger just looks mean and can be fast but not as quick… Really stuck on these 2.
