How Much would the dealership Charge to replace my Airbags?

I have an 08 Civic Si and long story short, I slid and bit a crub pretty hard on my drivers wheel. My steering wheel airbag and passenger dash airbag deployed, and my seat belt as well was triggered and jammed. I'm taking it into Honda on Monday but am just curious and would like a heads up before about what to expect going in there. I know I'll need the two airbags, seat belt and new SRS so I know it will be costly but i was wondering if anyone could help me get a rough estimate on what to expect, Thanks in advance!

About the cost price of the airbags plus a 20-50% profit margin plus the pay rate x manhours required to complete the task.

typically they will charge a rate of $35-50 manhours based on difficulty, and your looking at a 1-2 manhour job, so, maybe $60-80 for the service plus the price of the part. I think you could expect a low profit margin on that one, so, asume 25%. Look up the cost of the airbag, multiply by 1.25, then add $80 and that will give you your likely higher end price. Aka, your price will be give or take $30 from that.

this is per airbag mind you

Replacing the airbags and seat belt will most likely cost in the area of $2500 at a dealer.

Bet the dealer is at like $ 125 an hour for one mechanic. But the big expense are the airbags, which can go for $ 600 EACH. BUT! If you look to save some cash & have a cheap garage do the work, you need to know that there's a big black market for air bags. And some dishonest people are taking blown bags & stuffing them full of newspapers so they look good, but they are just fakes. The one great part of having the dealer do the work is that you know the new bags will work if you need them.

So, you don't have insurance?

Replacing an airbag consists of replacing more than just the airbag itself. Often, sensors, springs and other pieces must be replaced. I'm afraid fire4511 is closer to the mark for what you need to be done. Plus, don't forget to have them check the wheel, steering, suspension etc. - that may well have been damaged too.
