What do you think i should do about the electrical problems in my car?

Hello everybody this is about my Honda civic 2002 EX with about 164k miles on it. A while ago my emergency brake light started staying on wither the emergency brake was on or off, at the same time my AC stopped working. A little more recently i noticed that my cruise control, power door locks, the lights inside my car don't automatically turn on when the car door is open, the ringing noise that used to come on when I left my headlights on no longer goes off, and one setting of my wind shield wipers no longer work. I went to a shop and they said that i need to have my fuse box replaced, that can only be done at a dealer so it is going to cost alot. My father and i looked at the fuse boxes (they look fine) and he says that as long as it runs fine and passes smog to just drive it until it dies, however when it passed smog it was before all of these problems. Do you think that I actually need to replace it or that I should just keep driving it? Also if you don't think it is the fuse box what do you think the problem is?

From what I can find, it is the fuse box under the steering wheel and you aren't the only one that's had this happen.

You can do it yourself.

Sounds like electrolysis in your grounding system to guess where is futile but i've found it inside door panels on camry and corvette but its anyone guess realistically but almost positively your issue

With some time and instruments in your hands, you can do it yourself. Clean thoroughly all terminals, fuses and especially common ground contacts of the dashboard, steering column etc. This can do wonders and help keep the resale value.

  • What problems should you expect to have buying a car with 300k miles? Looking to buy a 7 year old Honda with 300k miles cause it's really cheap. What are some problems I should expect to have?
  • 95 honda shadow vlx600 electrical problems? So I took it out for a ride this morning and it starts up fine, shifts fine, accelerates and does everything it's supposed to. I always have it on a trickle charger when not riding. Tested the battery after the incident and it came out to be 12.6 off the bike. I rode it for about 10 minutes, I started to pull into the parking lot and it completely shuts down on me, no lights, no dash, no power no nothing. Any suggestions? I was told it could possibly be the ignition switch?
  • Do you think if they call a car a Sport model it should go fast? I remember when I think the Honda Fit/Jazz was called the "Sport model" and it got criticised for having soft suspension. These days "Sport" is used in most cars is used on the one with the most features and not fast cars very much. Should the ones with the most features be calling something else rather than sports?
  • Did you know that Philippines is so poor that if you own a car people will think you're rich? I live in the Philippines and I own a 2013 Honda Fit and I sometimes drive it when I go to the University, it's not even expensive. And my friends think I'm rich. Most people here only use underbone motorcycles for transportation, most families don't even own a car.
