Why do people visually tune their cars?

I have never seen a tuned Honda Civic that looks better than a stock one.

That is your opinion. People who cosmetically change their car prefer the look. Some people do not care as much for what's under the hood.

It is a choice, a preference. I'm with you, however, the best automobiles on the planet are the ones which are left 100% stock. Little do most of these turners realize they are actually decreasing the value of their automobiles by performing such mods.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What you may think does not look good someone else may love it.

Girls play dress-up with dolls; boys play dress-up with cars.

People just like to be different! As you noted different does not always mean better.

  • Why do some people buy new cars to save gas? It seems like people complain about high gas prices so they go and buy these expensive gas saving cars. Usually a Honda or Toyota hybrid that's about $35,000 dollars. So what's the point of buying the car if you just wasted all that money. You could have just used that money for gas. Don't you think it's better to just buy a cheap $1,000 dollar Honda and save all that money for gas? Because buying the new car you pretty much threw all the money away.
  • Why do people get mad over the fact that their cars require full synthetic oil? I work as a mechanic and found some people do not like the fact 2010 and up toyotas and Hondas and almost all 2014 cars and European cars require full synthetic oil. A majority of the anger comes towards toyotas and Hondas. Despite me explaining the increased intervals, they still get angered at the fact. Is it just me or does less time doing oil changes that save you more money in the long run end up coming out cheaper despite the increased price and why would they be angry saving money?
  • Why do honda street racers put spoilers/ wings on their front wheel drive cars? In Los Angeles i see alot of street racers driving hondas witg huge spoilers on the back… Doesn't that make a front wheel drive slower
  • What are some sites where people rent out their own personal cars? I'm thinking of one, but I forgot the name of it. You'd have a list of people renting their cars out in your area. You could rent anything from a 15yo Honda with a manual trans to newer Teslas and BMWs. Any similar rental services?
