Can another size tire fit on my car?

Okay so. I have a cute little honda civic si hatchback. It's lowered about 2in and has 205/50/16's on it currently. Those dang tires are teeny tiny low pros. My buddy has a set of 205/55/16's dirt cheap. Was wondering if I should just stick to the exact same size I have on there right now or can I go up a couple? Also, winter is here and in SWPA we can get a pretty good bit of snow. What do you suggest about that is there a low pro tire that has like winter grip?! Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated!

The wider a tire is the worse it will be in snow. Check with a local tire retailer and see what they say will fit your car

Should fit fine.

Sure, you can safely use 205/55-16 sized tires on your Civic Si. However, if you want to buy winter tires in the OE suggested size look at the Yokohama iceGUARD iG52c for about a Benjamin a tire. Or, if you want a top quality performance tire you can use year round that will nicely eat up the snow the Continental ExtremeContact DWS is one hell of a tire for the money.
