How hard would it be to ride a motorcycle when I've never rode a bicycle in my life?

So my friend recently offered me to ride his Honda CBR250RR the next time I see him. But, the thing is I've never rode on anything with two wheels before. Not a scooter or a bicycle. The only experience I've had with anything similar is on my ATV. Would it be harder to ride a motorcycle? I've heard that going fast is much more stable than going slow. Any other tips from you riders out there? If so, thank you very much!

Added (1). The bike is a project bike so it's not like it's too bad if I drop it. My friend himself has even said that it's fine if I drop it. I'm helping him fix it anyways. We're also going to be on a private road so traffic obviously isn't an issue. I'm a beginner that's simply practicing, not riding on the road or anything dumb such as that.

It will be hard at first may seem overwhelming but just start slow don't do anything you don't feel comfortable doing. Always nice to have guide to help you your first few days and that's a great bike to start on remember all the gear all the time look where you want to go hug the tank with your knees and become very comfortable with counter steering (push left go left)

You will crash with 10 seconds. Learn to ride a bicycle first and stay off your friends bike

It will be faster, safer, and cheaper to learn first on a LESS than 20 pound bicycle than on a MORE than 200 pound motorcycle!

Going fast in a straight line is *easy* -- turning it the tricky part. At walking speed you steer left to go left. At higher speeds you try to steer right to go left -- counter steer. I figured out when I was 2 years of age on a girl's pedal bicycle (the seat was about head high.) You need to ride a pedal bicycle until you no longer try muscling it around and riding becomes instinct -- then you can try riding a motorcycle.

My tip?

Don't do it.

  • What would you do if a lady around 30-37 told you that you were useless and would never amount to anything? She's a well dressed white lady with a brand new Honda SUV and she has a daughter that looks about 12 that is also well dressed and the girl is being rude and both are being very rude to the guy at the counter at Subway. Would it be wrong to curse out the old witch who tried to start a fight and cursed out the subway worker and you?
  • Would a Honda CBR650f be easy or hard to maintain? I've never ridden before so I'm debating between the cbr 500 or the 650. Look I know the 500 is prob a better choice for a beginner, but my first car was a camaro ss 2010… So what would you recommend me to get? Would the 500 be Any different then the 650?
  • Motorcycle A1 Test, how hard? I'm coming up to my 17th, I have some money left over and was debating to do a A1 test, and having a pillion passenger that would be used nearly everyday and the other bonuses. I know my insurance goes up as well but I'm mainly wondering about the cost and difficulty, it all changes year by year. Any help would be great! I bought a Honda CBR 125RS6
