Is the clutch bad on my 1982 Honda cb450 Nighthawk motorcycle?

I've had this motorcycle for a couple years now and slowly it would become harder and harder to put it into neutral. When I'm riding pretty quick and I'm just coasting I can usually find neutral but if it is stopped it is almost impossible. If I turn it off I can put it in neutral no problem but if it's on and not moving or moving slow then I can't do it. It's not that I can't find it but it's physically hard to push the fear pedal. It feels like the clutch is loose and doesn't fully engage until pulled in about halfway. Maybe it's just an easy adjustment? If anyone knows anything try to put it in simple terms please! I understand engine basics but not advanced!

All that is needed is a clutch free play adjustment. Adjust the clutch and the problem will be solved.

Maybe the clutch is loose and doesn't fully engage until pulled in about halfway. Lift the rear wheel. If you can't adjust the clutch to fully disengage so the rear wheel stops spinning, time to rebuild the clutch and look at them gears, forks an' dogs. Just follow the procedure in the shop manual, Haynes, Clymer or Honda. Don't have one? Oh… Too bad. They have, like, pictures and everything, dude.
