Can you use ride with the Yamaha yz125 over long distances?
I'm considriring buying a new bike, I want to ride mx and also fmx but also take the bike out for a day on the farm and do some play riding, trail riding… I don't know if you can ride long distances with the yz125 without cuasing damage to the engine. Long distance meaning a on the farm, not from one city to the other.
Then, the servicing, I probaly wouldnt service her after a day of play riding. Only after serious mx races, would that damage the bike? (i will check the oil and water before every ride, don't have problem with that.)
Also then can one of these bikes do what i just said:
KTM SX125
Honda CRF 150 RB
Kawasaki KX 125
Suzuki RM 125
also can one ride enduro with any of those bikes?
HI Long distance is going to be a lot less tiring on you and the machine if it is a lot bigger capacity than a 125 cc engine. This will soon burn out.So 500 cc and larger is what is required when doing long distance
Long distance? What is your definition of long distance- mine start at 200 miles, anything less is just average distance or go to church distance. 1 tank of gas worth travel is short distance, 2 tanks is medium distance- so if your idea of 'long distance' is less than 2 hours ride, then you need to ride some more.A 125 that can cruise at 50 mph can be used to do couple hundred miles in 1/2 day travel- some local scooter riders do that with mopeds that are restricted to 30 mph- takes then most of day and lots of side roads but they get to rally site. I used to cruise at 55 legal limit on little 100cc Honda trainer motorcycle 15 miles to work, 35 mile runs to country farm area, was close to top speed of 70 but engien with.040 overbore and new piston was happy enough. 45 mph cruise gets many small scooters and dual sports to country campground 150 miles away from gas station starting point- what I used to plan routes when the trikes and sidecars were main part of the pack- put the 250cc and under solo riders to go with the 45 inch flathead trikes and the R60/2 sidecar rigs.
- What bike should i get a 2004 honda cr125 or 07 yamaha yz125? I have a 2011 rmz250 and want another bike so i don't load up the 250 with hours. I have the chance to buy a mint 04 cr125 with a full pro circuit for 2200$. Or i can get the yz125 07 or 3000$. Its all modded out though. Front and rear RG3 suspension, motor built up by PR2, brand new tires, bars grips plastics and graphics, fresh rebuild, and a full FMF exhaust. The guy also has all stock parts that he switched out and receipts for all the work done. Both bikes have paperwork and are mint.
