Why is my motorcycle not producing the power that it should?
My 1985 Honda Magna v30 runs fine(sounds normal) but I have a hard time reving it above 9,000rpm with full throttle which it should hit red line at 11,500rpm… I'm cleaning the carbs currently. Sometimes it has a hard time starting-eventhough I can hear it combusting. It should be able to hit 110mph with ease but it has a hard time getting to 55mph right now.
I have already ordered
-new air filter (it was thick black in the inside)
-oil filter
-?(this part is for you to answer)
what should I get, repair, clean, or inspect
How did it run without the air filter fitted? It can't really be running fine if the air filter was in such a mess.
Have you checked the carb rubbers, if they are holed then they will defeat any attempt to identify the problem.
Check for valve leakage by performing a cylinder leak down test.
While you are at it, check the cylinder compression.
Piston & rings don't last forever,
If the engine is in poor condition, it won't produce enough vacuum to lift the throttle slides.
- Prius: Can someone explain the power usage meter & specific difference between power mode and Eco mode? My brother just got me a Prius to replace my old beater Honda and I'm having difficulty understanding the power usage meter (meter on dash with "Charge-Eco-Power") and the difference in the Eco & Power modes. I do understand the charge bit on the meter.
- Why do I have no power to my motorcycle? I have a 1980 Honda Cm400T it passed inspection a few weeks ago and I rode it two times after that. Then I parked it in my garage because it was getting colder outside, few more days later I tried starting it up again but once I turned the key in the ignition no power nothing at all, no lights, nothing. I renewed all the fuses, even charged the battery since it only had 12.03 volts. I don't know what else to check and why there's no power at all.
- Motorcycle dealer does not want to negotiate? Should I pass? Trying to buy a 2015 honda pcx150. I've called 2 dealers who both only want me to pay full MSRP + TTL + Fees. Why are they so reluctant to negotiate? I'm a cash buyer. What is their problem? Should I just pass and maybe wait until the winter starts to hit and maybe then they would be more willing to negotiate?
- If one or two ISP's ban a site and raise prices, can a new one rise up and compete? Why? Why not? What about Honda/Toyota? Or ' MCI & Sprint muscling AT&T aside? Anyone remember Nucor Steel? Each of those took advantage of very different situations, each with seemingly impossible odds. Thing is, they were all LEGALLY allowed to compete. How about here?
