How hard is it to fix a broken engine bolt on a mini van?
Which one out of hundreds?
Gotta drill it out install a heli-coil its ez if you know what your doing its a nightmare if you don't approx. 50.00 at a shop
Based on your excellent description, it could be any of the hundreds of bolts on the engine on a mini van. Fortunately, the procedure is the same:
Drill out the center of the bolt, gently run a bolt extractor into the hole until it starts to grab and turn left.
The problem is WHICH of the hundreds of engine bolts needs this procedure… Is it a small one happily sitting on top of the engine? This one should take a 1/2 hour or so if you have SOME mechanical ability. Is it on the bottom of the engine right up against the frame where there's no access? The engine might have to be rocked over after removing an engine mount or even completely removed. I wouldn't wish THAT one on somebody I despised.
Had you provided a better description, you'd have received better answers.
- I just pulled into the parking lot at work and when I got off my van I noticed I had more space to back up so I tried to turn on my van and? It was dead. I checked the ports and everything looked good. The battery is new. What can it be? I have a 2006 Honda Odyssey EXL
- Mini bike engine runs full throttle, I believe there's a problem with the internal governor gear, any thoughts? It's a Honda g150 engine that's been sitting in a shed for over 35 years. I took off the carb and cleaned it out, the governor arm doesn't return back to idle, it just sits on full throttle. Runs fine minus that problem. Got it started yesterday and it took off I had to bail and it kept going right into my neighbors house lol.
- Is snapped bolt on my motorcycles engine case bad? I was putting the right engine cover back on my Honda Grom and overtightened one of the 10 bolts and it snapped with about half the bolt still in the hole. Is it fine to leave it and not deal with it or what do I do about it?
- I have a Honda GSV 190 mower engine with a broken starter rope and stud stuck in starter that I can't remove. Any ideas would be great When removing the nuts holding the recoil starter in place the nut on the front of the starter is stuck. When I try to remove it the whole stud come out of the engine. Leaving the engine cover stuck to the starter preventing me from replacing the rope. I have tried everything I can think of to remove it with no luck. Heres what it looks like. http://www.ereplacementparts.com/bolt-stud-h425mm-p-554740.html
