When should a 2010 honda pilot timing belt be changed?
Call a Honda dealer and ask them. Unless something is wrong, It will be something like a 90,000 mile service. Some cars are different. My frontier recommendation @ 90k was timing belt, water pump, and a few other things. Came to $1400.00. Ouch!
The timing belt and water pump must be replaced every 105,000 miles or 10 years whichever comes first. Warning: This is an interference engine and as such if the belt breaks you will have severe internal engine damage. A Honda dealer will charge you around $900 for this service. An independent shop will be half that.

- I have a 2000 Honda Civic with 140,000 miles on it. Do you think the timing belt has been changed? I read somewhere that they are supposed to be changed at 105,000 miles, or seven years. My car has a lot more miles than that, and twice the age. Do you think the belt has been changed before? Or is it possible it's the original belt? Would the original have lasted this long?
- What causes a timing belt to jump and oil in spark plugs, how much should it cost? I have a 1997 honda accord 2.2 4 cylinder. It has 305,000 miles on it. I was driving the other day and it worked just fine, all of a sudden it stopped working and my radio was still playing, i check under the hood and the was oil in my spark plugs, people are telling me my timing belt jumped time, what causes it, and how much should it cost? It acts like it wants to crank but it doesn't
- How much should a timing belt replacement cost at a Honda dealership for a 2010 Honda Accord? Our car is in for some work where they already have the engine pulled. They said it would cost $750 to replace the timing belt (nearing 100k miles) since they already have the engine out, rather than the $1,200 if we brought it later to get it done. This seems really expensive to me. My wife spoke with them so I haven't been able to find out whether that is just for the timing belt, or if it is also water pump/other belts too.
