Could be the stator or the regulator/rectifier.
You need a multimeter.
Check the voltage to the battery first, should read about 13.5V-14.5V with the engine RUNNING (ha-ha).
Check the voltage from the stator to the rec/reg engine running.
So, replace the reg/rect first and hopefully that's good,
If not the stator is next.
Could be something as simple as a defective spark plug cap.
Don't waste your money buying unnecessary parts.
The regulator/rectifier is only used to charge the battery.
It has absolutely nothing to do with the spark plug firing.
There's a "pulse coil" near the stator.

It acts like a set of points and tells the coil when to fire the spark plug.
A service manual is necessary to learn of the specs to test it.
Now you wanna check stuff? Thought you were using the random replacement method of troubleshooting. You sure it ain't got a magneto with, like, a lighting coil? Hazya got a shop book? Them's got troubleshootin' and, like, circuit descriptions, dude.
- Honda Spree Maintenance? I have a 1986 Honda Spree, and last night my pipe from engine to muffler completely snapped! (Perfect right?) I was wondering if anybody has suggestions either for home repair options or products they've used before that have worked well. For reference I'm located in seattle, WA. Also for reference, the pipe is welded onto my muffler, but was just attached to engine, no welding.
- I have a 2004 Honda CRV, I tried to check the Engine Block Heater Cord but I can't see any wiring? Anyone who could help me locate the cord may be it is wrap or tie with the other wire? Where are the location the heater can be install for me start looking at the wiring in there?

- If your car was starting to have a lot of mechanical issues (see details), would you go for repairs or buy a new or good used car? My 2002 Honda Civic is suddenly having a lot of problems - SRS dash light always on, AC doesn't work, squeaking and thumping underneath on front passenger's side and brake pedal, and passenger side mirror is loose.
