1998 Honda Passport 4x4 4L30E auto. Tranny went out only had reverse. Had it rebuilt, same thing. Took it back now it has reverse and 2nd?

Of course they want more $$ to pull the tranny. Can't they use a special code reader because it's an electronic tranny. I think it's more likely a communication problem between the tranny and the cars main computer. Need some advice.nthanks Denene

If they rebuilt it, they should cover the money to pull the tranny.

The dreaded 4L30E one big piece of sheet. But did you get a warranty with this? Then should be covered. If you pulled it and had them rebuild it and you installed it then they can charge for labor. But if that many problems they should pull it for nothing. Find a local shop at ATRA.COM for more help

Electronic transmissions are the only ones you can read the data and trouble codes on.
You're letting a bunch of bozos mess with your vehicle.
Any transmission shop guarantees their work for at least 12 months or 12,000 miles whichever comes first! Don't spend another dime unless it's for the attorney you need now!
