1994 Honda Accord Exhaust
I know that there's one cat. Converter underneath the car, but I don't see on connected to the exhaust manifold, and I'm wondering if there's another cat. Somewhere else in the exhaust system? My second question is: Is there any type of sensor on the cat.(s) that would cause my problems if I were to straight pipe it.
My third question is: Is there a certain amount of back pressure that needs to be on the engine as to not burn out the computer.
Yes, the engine must have some back pressure. It is illegal to remove the catalytic converter and if you do the engine will not run properly. Removing the back pressure will not burn out the computer but the engine will run terrible. Simply look under the car to see how many converters it has. Leave everything alone.
- What type of exhaust gasket should I use when fitting new exhaust? I would like to install new exhaust system on my car and was wondering if I use the flat oval shape gasket or round conical gasket or both? I'll be installing a backbox and centre pipe. It's a 1998 Honda Civic.
- Why is my 1994 honda accord running rich? It has new air filter and plugs. Car drives fine and has good pickup. Only code I get is for the egr valve but no other codes. What could it be if their are no codes? It's the ex manual.
- Why is my 1994 Honda accord getting bad mileage? I had a bad ecu I changed it car runs good now but mileage is still bad my est is about 10mpg in city. Car drove about 130 miles on 3/4 tank all city driving. The only code I have is for the egr valve. Tailpipe smells bad too so it's running rich but why are their no codes?
- What's wrong with my 1994 Honda accord? Got a Honda accord 1994. Starts up, idles, blows white smoke from exhaust pipe and overheats. Could it be a blown head gasket or is it because it has a cracked cylinder?
