1999 Honda Accord. I have to pump break a bunch to get out of park

I have a 1999 Honda Accord. I've had it for about a year and a half. I have to pump the brake a bunch to get it out of park. It sometimes takes only a minute and sometimes it takes 5 minutes. It always goes eventually but i hate pumping it over and over. Does anyone know how to fix it? Is it the break light switch? Or something else?

Theirs a switch connected to your brake pedal that won't let it start unless your foot is on the brake. Thats where your problem is.

  • Is the 1985 Honda CR 500 water pump gear shaft compatible with the 86-2001 Honda CR 500 water pump gear shaft? I have a 1985 CR 500 and the water pump gear shaft broke. It has been discontinued from Honda, and no one else has it. It is a metal gear. The one's for the 1986-2001 CR 500 are plastic. If I have to use plastic, I will. However, I prefer not to. If anyone knows where I can get the OEM 1985 Honda CR 500 gear shaft, I would forever be grateful.
  • I have a 96 Honda Accord. I have to pump the gas pedal before it will roll over? Wasn't a problem before, but it takes longer and longer to roll over the more humid the weather gets. What's the problem and how much is this going to cost me?
  • How to get to the fuel pump in a 2002 honda accord? I know the pump is in the tanks but isn't sure how to get to it, because I know some cars is under the seat, trunk and floor, but don't know how to get to mines. If anyone can give me steps on how to get it out would be great Okay I will try checking that because someone told me it was the fuel pump because the car shut off while driving and now will not start up.
  • Can't get car get out of park and brake is making a lot of air noise? 1999 Honda Accord EX 2 Door Coupe Just recently I have had a problem with my car where it will not come out of being locked in park. When I press on the break, it sounds like someone is letting air out of an air mattress. After fooling with it a couple minutes, it will let me move it into drive and work just fine. What is wrong with it? I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but it had been very hot lately.
