How to get to the fuel pump in a 2002 honda accord?
I know the pump is in the tanks but isn't sure how to get to it, because I know some cars is under the seat, trunk and floor, but don't know how to get to mines. If anyone can give me steps on how to get it out would be great
Added (1). Okay I will try checking that because someone told me it was the fuel pump because the car shut off while driving and now will not start up.
Make sure it is the fuel pump. Honda fuel pumps usually don't fail. Check the relay and the fuses for it first. Open your trunk and pull back all the carpet in the middle of the truck pretty close to the back of the seat If you are lucky i believe the accord is one of the cars that had an access port in the trunk remove the tree bolts and bellow that is the fuel sending unit.
James is right - I would bet heavily it is not the fuel pump. You should also know the fuel pump only runs for two seconds when you turn on the ignition, while you are cranking, and for two seconds after you stop cranking unless the engine starts. The fuel pump relay is many times more likely to fail than the pump, and it almost never causes the engine to shut down, just not to start.
Top suspects are the ignition control module (aka igniter) and the timing belt. It can also be the ignition swich but in that case it usually starts when you try it again. Anyway, check for spark (I doubt you have it) first.
You did not specify whether this is an ex, lx, dx; so I'm sending you the ex coupe:

Fuel Pump
7.Remove the bolts, and the fuel tank unit.
8.Remove the bracket (A), the fuel filter (B). The fuel gauge sending unit (C). The hose
(D). And the wire harness (E).
9. When connecting the fuel pump, make sure the connection is secure and the suction
filter (H) is firmly connected to the fuel pump (I).
10. Install the pants in the reverse order of removal with a new base gasket, then check
these items:
-When connecting the wire harness, make sure the connection is secure and the
terminal (F) is firmly locked into the place.
-Check that the tab of the clamp (G) does not interfere with the wire harness.
-Do not push the lower part of the suction filter.
-When installing the fuel gauge sending unit, make sure the connection is secure
and the connector is firmly locked into place. Be careful not to bend or twist it
excessively.
- Is the 1985 Honda CR 500 water pump gear shaft compatible with the 86-2001 Honda CR 500 water pump gear shaft? I have a 1985 CR 500 and the water pump gear shaft broke. It has been discontinued from Honda, and no one else has it. It is a metal gear. The one's for the 1986-2001 CR 500 are plastic. If I have to use plastic, I will. However, I prefer not to. If anyone knows where I can get the OEM 1985 Honda CR 500 gear shaft, I would forever be grateful.
- How to fix a problem with a 1995 Honda del sol, where the fuel pump only works sometimes? The fuel pump has been replaced but only gets power sometimes. It's not the regulator and not the fuse. They have power going to the fuse but not to the fuel pump.
- Does the fuel pump on a 1994 Honda Shados stay going, or is it only to prime the carbs when starting? My Honda Blackbird is also carbureted with no fuel pump, therefore I don't see why it'd be necessary for a classic style V-twin. Is it on all the time while the engine is running, or is it just used in tandem with the starter?
- How many amps does a fuel pump for a 95 honda civic use? I blew 2 fuel pumps already because I wired them to the a hard line in the battery. Then I installed an in line fuse, but it was a 20 amp so the fuel pump still blew. My guy said a fuel pump uses about 6 amps so I need a 7.5 amp fuse. I'm wondering if I could use a 5 amp fuse because it's a very small engine and fuel pump. Does anyone know what the stock amp draw should be?
