You trans may be in limp mode
that just allows to get it to a service centre to check for faults
If the "N" or "D" shift indicator light is flashing you have an electrical problem with the transmission control system that is bad.It can be as easy as replacing an input or output speed sensor or could be a failed shift solenoid or wiring problem. The only thing you can do yourself is check the wiring harness over the transmission to see if rodents have been chewing on it and caused an open circuit. If you see any seed or nut shells look close! Go to the dealer to get the tranny codes read. If you go to a transmission shop they always try to just sell you a transmission!
- Sometimes the car does not stop when I brake but it feels like it's hard to stop, is this a rotor issue I'm afraid I will rear end someone? It happens every once a while I'll press the brakes and it won't stop like a jumpy feeling is this rotorsrelated? 2001 Honda Passport
- Honda owners: is there a difference in top speed between 4 speed and 5 speed element? My car is an 03 auto awd ex. I'm just curious, what top speed before drag effect comes into Affect? Can it achieve over 100 mph? I've heard that it can do 1-10 but I'm not sure whether that's for the 5 speed or the automatic bc the extra gear makes a difference in my opinion.
- I have a 2000 Honda civic si. I'm having brake problems? I have replaced the calipers, rotors, and pads. I have also replaced the master slave cylinder. The brakes do work and I can bring the car to a stop. But the pedal is almost to the floor until the pads make contact with the rotor. I bled the master cylinder and brakes correctly. Fluid comes out of all bleeders so that is not the issue. Does anyone have any ideas?
- 2005 honda civic went from having heat only when you are driving to having no heat? Have replaced thermostat twice, replaced the water pump, the heater core and the low idle valve. The system has been flushed ever time. It's went from having heat when you moving to having no heat at all.
