95 honda accord hitting bumps very hard. Bad shocks or what?

I don't know a lot about cars, but, my 95 accord just got a major overhaul (timing belt, water pump, and lots of miscellanous stuff like belts and such). Problem is, my mechanic didn't say anything about the shocks, but, I feel like the car is hitting bumps Way too hard. When the road is smooth, the ride is great, but, for example, I was on a freeway today that has lots of continuious bumps and I thought my car was breaking apart… Literally had to get off an exit to check. But the, when I got to a newer part of the road (more smooth) the ride was really good. So, is this certainly the shocks, or what? Also, how much is a fair price to replace all 4 by a mechanic?

Struts and shocks
mechanic around $400
do it yourself $150

Give the push test. Push all the way down on the bumper and let go, first the front, then the back, you should get one and a half bounces. If your shocks are bad, there will be no bounce. For a 95 accord, i wouldn't put more than 200 per shock into it, including labor. Good shocks are expensive. A little less than good and they're still expensive and that $800 would be the less than good. Less than good meaning they're not expected to last as long.

Sounds like the sway bar links and bushings need replaced, they get hard over time and sounds like something is broken underneath.

  • What could cause a clunking noise when hitting a bump in a Honda Pilot 2019? When vehicle hits bumps in the road, a clunking/thumping noise happens. Sounds like spare tire is hitting but actually it's, because that has been checked and is secured tightly. Very annoying.
  • Hit a pothole, car makes scratching noise on bumps? I hit a pothole going about 50 mph on a highway entrance ramp. Car drives fine but on any sort of bump/dip in the road, the car makes a scratching/grinding noise from the left front tire (the tire that hit the pothole). It's an 05 Honda pilot, not lowered. What do y'all think it might be?
  • Honda crv squeaking again. From the back side. Over bumps 98 model? My crv was squeaking bad so I had my camper bushings replaced last year and the noise stopped. Now all of the sudden it started making the same squeak over bumps again only after a year. The garage guy told me to lubercate them. Considering my car isn't low to the ground can't I just crawl under and spray the lubercant without lifting the car up?
  • WhY does my car shake so much when I go over little bumps? I have a 2006 honda civic w/more than 100k miles and I traded it in for my other car. My problem is whenever I drive over small bumps, the cAr would shake violently even if I go slow. How can I fix this?
