Are Honda Accords decent vehicles?

They're among the best cars! For years they were the biggest selling model in the US (might still be, for all I know). Look at their resale values on Craigslist!

Decent

Depends what you want, how you drive, and who you are. For me, they wouldn't last a week. Not much good for off-roading.

A VERY dependable car with few repairs expected. Almost zero if it is new.

Buy the 10 speed, you don't want the CVT tranny.

It depends on the year. Accords, maybe more than any other car I can think of, have had great years and truly horrible years.
The horrible years were 1998-2004, where the 2003 Accords (especially those with V6 engines) often needed two transmission replacements under warranty and a third (or even fourth) at the owner's expense. The 2003 Accord is carcomplaints.com second worst car in their records. After six years of letting customers twist in the wind, Accords were okay until 2008, when Honda messed with the front/rear brake balance. People were replacing their rear brakes when they changed their oil, but most lasted almost 20,000 miles.
Recently Accords have been doing well enough.

Yes

No that's why so many people buy them jojo

New? Yes. Used? Like with any used car, how well it will hold up long-term depends mostly on how it was driven and maintained by past owners AND Accords tend to hold their value well so they're not nearly as good a value to buy used as they are to purchase brand new in my opinion.

If buying new, you'll probably love the reliability and the resale value. If buying used, beware of sellers trying to cash in on the Honda badge by selling cars that might not be worth the asking price due to age/mileage/condition.

I had a 2004 2.2 Diesel sport. It had decent performance and fuel economy and looked better than most of the competition.

Absolutely. I love it
