Can I register my car at the new york Dmv?

I just bought me a honda accord ex 1996. Insurence is too expensive. So my aunt is going to insure it for me. So her name is gonna be on the title as the owner. Can i go to the dmv to regsiter the car if the papers are sign and have a copy of her license?

don't tell me to call dmv because they never answer

No, you can't without a notarized power of attorney.

You're also committing insurance fraud, which means that when you have an accident while driving, the insurance company will do a little checking and use your fraud as the basis to refuse to pay your claim.

And then your aunt will be on the hook for the entire amount.

Your aunt will personally have to pay a visit to the NY DMV to transfer title and register the vehicle, you are not eligible to do so on your own. Also, a further suggestion, you would have the option of placing both your and your aunt's names on the title if you wish.

Nope. The person whose name is on the title is the only one who can register. They have to show ID, too.

In order for you to be covered by her insurance Your name and DL number has to be given to the insurance company. This shows your age its still going to be high. And for the rest NO, NO, NO.

No, only your aunt will be able to do this, and really won't do a whole lot of good. It's "her" car of course, but the only way you will see any real savings on insurance rates will be if she is listed as primary driver, which would be fraud, and don't think they won't check it there's a claim.

So, you will have to be listed as primary driver, which will drive the rates back up again, and once insurance sees you don't live at the same address as your aunt they may tell her they won't cover "her" car with you driving.

Since there are a lot of problems to your plan (and insurance companies are wise to this) and there are no real savings, put the car in your name and find the best rates you can.

I'd suggest a local independent agent who can look at his database to find a good fit for you.
