Car idle high when starting up, in park and neutral position?
I have a 2008 honda accord lx-s 148000 miles that has been idling high for awhile now no engine light what are all the possibilities? It idles around 2000rpm at first then slowly works it way down to normal idling but will jump back up once I put it back in park
A stuck idle air control valve may be at the root of this issue. A vacuum leak typically has a surging idle from what i have seen.
Vacuum leak or carbon buildup in throttle body. Remove the throttle body to clean it. Do NOT just spray throttle body cleaner into the intake. Spray it on a rag and wipe the buildup off. Then do a throttle body relearn procedure.

- Honda clone small engine, horizontal shaft, high idle? It is on a baja warrior mini bike. I bought this bike from a guy who tried to make it a bit faster but left me with a problem. When starting the bike you have to jump on it as soon as it fires up because it starts going with out any twist of the throttle. I already cleaned the carb and the jets and tried adjusting the idle at the idle screw on top of the carb. The linkage looks fine and returns to the position it should. Also the clutch is in working order. How do I lower the idle?
- After replacing our car battery, our remote starter just turns and turns without actually starting the car? My wife has a 2010 Honda Fit and we just had to replace the battery. We got a remote starter installed from Best Buy in either 2010 or 2011. But after the recent battery replacement, the remote starter responds by just cranking and not starting. It does like three sets of cranking before stopping. I don't remember the brand of remote starter, but anyone have any insight of what I need to do?
- My 2007 Honda Civic Lx can't shift from park to neutral? After having it on jacks with the parking brake on stilts I rolled it out of my driveway in neutral and put it into park and now it won't come out of park.
