How to take off a broken screw?
I'm tryna replace my tailights in my 1996 honda accord. I already got one of. And all i need is the last one. But there's this one little dumb screw that doesn't wanna come off. Its all smushed like if someone already tried to takr it off but couldnt. Anyway that could help me take it off?
You can also use a nut splitter. Its $5-$10 bucks at Autozone. It fits over top of the nut then you put a socket on the attached threaded rod and turn that rod and two sharp pointed teeth push on the edges of nut til it splits. Its fast and easy
Pair of pliers
I assume it's that round piece stuck to the bolt. If the surrounding have the space to fit a locking plier, otherwise, a dremel with a metal cutting disc, and a chisel/hammer works best.
From your picture I recommend trying a nut splitter first. Or you could cut the screw and drill it out. I'd try the nut splitter first. You can buy on at an auto parts or hardware store.
Get a pair of pliers, use a FIRM grip on on it around the threads as youre loosening it.
You can weld then if it is major but that isn't major do hat the other guy said.
