Driver Rear wheel wobble (2007 Accord w/ drums & shoes)?
2007 Honda Accord with rear drums and shoes…
My car has been having a wobble/vibration while driving at any speed. A friend I had sitting in the back said he thought it was coming from the rear driver wheel. So I had him drive and it seems to me that it is for sure that rear driver wheel.
What I have tried… Take another wheel/tire off friends car (same car) to rule out bad wheel and tire. Jacked up car and tried to grab wheel and move left right/up down. No play in any direction. Took car to a shop they said shoes looked good. Only recommended replacing front brake pads (which I was going to anyway) and re balance all wheels (which I had them do but had a feeling it wouldn't do anything). Still feels wobbly in that rear driver side wheel that "seems to be fine".
Obviously I don't expect anyone to know exactly what it is, but it would be appreciated if anyone could point me to what to check out next.
Did they balance the wheel? How does the tire look? If the tires are old or have flat spots, replace them.
Might be something other than a rear wheel. Possibly suspension related. Bad rear strut(s) would be my guess since you've eliminated a lot already. I've also seen loose exhaust systems cause vibration that feels like a wheel. A bit of a long shot, but check nonetheless. Easy to do.
It's the Wheel Bearing. They don't have to be loose to be bad. They aren't real expensive or hard to replace. Get the Hub and Bearing. To confirm, take the Drum off and spin the Hub by hand. If you feel ANY roughness it's bad.
A shake or wobble you can feel in the car is almost always a bad tire or tires. You probably guessed the wrong one, try changing all 4.
Bad bearings cause a noise not a shake or wobble unless they are very, very bad, something you would have felt when checking by hand.
- My car is front wheel drive and the rear shocks are leaking will the car last at least two weeks until I can go to a mechanic? My car is Honda 2010 2dr front wheel drive I went to the mechanic yesterday and he told me that rear shocks (not front) were leaking and that I should replace them now or they can cause an accident the thing is he is charging too much and I can get them fixed for cheaper in the city but I'm in college right now and the soonest I can go is in two weeks will my car last that long or is he just trying to scare me into paying As soon as possible the car ride home is like 3hours as well
- Will a Atv rear shock work on a motorcycle as a rear shock? So I have a 1984 Honda vf700s, which has a shot 17.5" rear shock. I found this shock http://www.ebay.com/...1405356646 and I love the red spring i'm just curious if it would serve well as a bike shock. And If so would it be suitable in terms of riding.
- Why do motorbike brake shoes have springs that snap them shut? . When the brake is released? I've taken them off the rear drum brake of my Honda 250 scooter and the brake is much more powerful as I'm not wasting effort overcoming the inertia of the springs. What a silly invention in the first place!
- Is my right rear wheel bearing bad? I have a 2001 Honda civic coupe LX. I was driving yesterday when my right rest tire started making a clicking/clacking noise while driving. As soon as the car starts to move, the noise starts. I researched and I found that it could be my wheel bearing. I jacked the car up, and spun the tire and it made the exact same noise as it did yesterday. Is that the wheel bearing causing the noise?
