Good technologically advanced cars under 10k?

Mitsubishi Lancer
Mostly I want it to look cool (the inside especially) and get good mpg
I'll be commuting to college so I'd like something reliable too haha
You must do pre-purchase inspection before you buy any use car or else you might purchase a lemon without you even know it.
Between these options the Lexus is250 is good. You can consider a BMW 2007 325/330 or 2006 525/530 are great cars too. Honda civic SI are for high school kids.

- Why is Toyota so technologically behind? Toyota Corolla in the States still use rear drum brakes and an archaic 4 speed auto. Compare them to Honda, Hyundai, etc. When people complained about the lousy braking of the Toyota Fortuner, we all expected them to change to 4 wheel disc brakes. But they only changed the mere front discs. Toyota Innova has smaller front disc brakes than the Smart car.
- What are the top 5 or so used cars/trucks under $3000 in a CA market? Another words, what are the easiest or most sought after i.e. Camry and Honda are probably two of them, can you name others? Would appreciate if your responses is backed up with experience, i.e. Someone in the business, salesman etc. Or actual knowledge first hand. Nobody is reading the question and answering it…
- Transmission fluid turned brown after 10k miles? I have a 2001 Honda Prelude auto and I was wondering how come my transmission fluid turned brown only after driving it for about 10k miles. The car currently has 84k miles on it and I'm hoping the tranny isn't going bad.
- What are good and cheap cruiser bikes? Under 4-5k? I'm looking for something similar to the honda rebel. I need it to hit 55- 60 miles per hours since the roads are spaced out where i'm from. And if i buy used should I trust a used motorcycle what should I look for? Detailed answers are much appreciated!
