How do I disable the seatbelt chime on a 2007 Honda Accord?

The chime goes off even when all passengers are buckled. Is there a fuse I can pull or a reset? It just started doing this about a month ago and I'm trying to get this car ready for my next teenage driver.

Squirt some WD40 into each seat belt retainer. Often a bad connection is the cause.

You could disconnect the battery for 10 minutes… Maybe a long shot, but it's easy and could work possibly.

Yes it's annoying as hell! The only way to deal with it is to let It go ding ding ding ding ding and get down on the ground and search around under the dash until you find the darn ding ding ding box and unplug it and throw it as far as you can possibly throw it.

You have to get down in the area of the driver's seat, above the pedals, locate the exact box that is making the noise, and disconnect it. It will be very hard to get to, and very hard to remove.

Much better to get it fixed. Odds are it is a bad seat belt, and Honda warranty covers seat belts for the life of the vehicle. The front passenger seat is the likely culprit - you can test by seeing which seat causes the chime if occupied - and disabling it will probably disable the air bags for the front passenger. If the system believes the seat is not occupied it will not trigger airbags. Since it is for a new teen driver that could be a very serious issue indeed, making you personally responsible for grievous injuries the passenger could face that airbags could have prevented.

  • How to disable power steering? I'm weak and need to get stronger this week before an arm wrestling match I have scheduled soon. I'm trying anything I can do to get stronger, and I'm thinking I want to disable the power steering in my car so I can have to physically steer the car myself. How can I do this? I've got a 2017 Honda Accord.
