How to disable power steering?
I'm weak and need to get stronger this week before an arm wrestling match I have scheduled soon. I'm trying anything I can do to get stronger, and I'm thinking I want to disable the power steering in my car so I can have to physically steer the car myself. How can I do this? I've got a 2017 Honda Accord.
Do press ups. Doing as you suggest will render the car unroadworthy.
You can do this if you want to screw up the car.
It's not going to help, dumbass.
Arm wrestle with my lovely wife. She's over twice your age and will win every time, but you'll get a good workout and maybe some tips on how to do it better. She's not Russian, but she does own several trucks and tractors, and the thought of, "Wife strong, lift ox," would not be completely out of place.
Don't be stupid. When the PS does not work there's too much slop in the steering and it isn't safe to drive.
Do some push ups or something jojo.
Bad idea, get a dumbell instead and build your arms up that way.
That was almost funny.
- What kind of power steering fluid? I have a 05 Hyundai elantra and the power steering fluid is red. Dark red, and a friend of mine told me to use Honda fluid in it when I replace it, I siphoned some out and put a bit of Honda fluid it but the Honda fluid is clear, is this a problem? And what kind of fluid should I use? He said the Honda fluid lubricates the system better than a generic multipurpose fluid. Its probly 1/2 Honda fluid now mixed with the old fluid.
- Is $800 a lot for a power steering flush? I went to my local mechanic, said it could use a flush due to my car being really hard to steer at times, and told me it would be $800 for a complete flush for my '03 Honda Pilot. Should I look somewhere else?
- Does power steering fluid get hot if the car is just running and the steering isn't being used? If the pump is just spinning, recirculating fluid and nothing else… Would it still get hot? I had to bypass the pump from the rack and have the fluid recirculate. Would the pump get hot from just spinning? I know 8th gen Honda's don't have a cooler for the power steering anyways.
- Power steering fluid leaking from the base of the steering column? I have a 2002 Honda Civic and I noticed that there's power steering fluid leaking at the base of the steering column. I can't find anything about it online and don't want to take it to a mechanic if its something that I can figure out. Could this be the rack and pinion? Or is it just something simple? Anybody dealt with this issue before?
