How much longer do you think my car should last me?

I've had my car for a little more than three years. It's a Honda accord 1993. It never had no major problems. My only concern is how it is eating up/leaking oil. My dad helps me keep up on my tires, brake shoes, ect. But everywhere i park ii leaves oil spots underneath my car. But other than that I've never had it break down or nothing. A couple of odd noises here and there but no noises lately. I'm just wanting someone else's opinion. It has 18841 miles.

Try to fix the oil leaks if its not too expensive.

It would be worth it to figure out where the oil leaks are coming from, and how much it would cost to fix them. Or just keep putting oil in it. A quart of regular oil is only about $5.

I doubt it has 18841 original miles on it. And with an oil leak it's not going to get better. Take it to the shop and find where the leak is coming from. That will give you a better idea if the reparation is more expensive than the value of the car.

If it was burning oil, it might not last that long. Leaking oil is likely a cheap fix. If that is the only problem, and it really has less than 20,000 miles, you should able to make it last for the rest of your life.

I think you have forgotten a number when you told us the mileage.
It's unbelievable that a 1993 car has nothing wrong with it. Do you get professional oil changes? Are you getting regular inspections? Belts and screws go bad simply with driving and age…

The only way you can find out what's wrong with it is to have the car looked at.

If you have had it for 3 years and haven't put on over 18000 miles = what's the sense of even owning a car and paying insurance, registration, and maintenance on it… It a bike and save yourself a lot of money.

There's no way to estimate it. Longevity depends on how it has been driven and maintained in the past, and how well you treat it in the future. Drive it conservatively and keep up on the recommended maintenance schedule (found in the owners manual) and it could last a very long time. My daily driver is a 1993 Toyota with 255,000 miles and it is in no danmger of dying anytime soon, but then I've owned and maintained it since new.

  • How long do you think a Honda Elite 50cc scooter last? I found a 1998 honda elite on craigslit in pretty good condition. Its pretty old but seems like it runs well. I'm not sure how many miles are on it but how many do you think it runs? How many miles should it be able to run*
  • Do you think if they call a car a Sport model it should go fast? I remember when I think the Honda Fit/Jazz was called the "Sport model" and it got criticised for having soft suspension. These days "Sport" is used in most cars is used on the one with the most features and not fast cars very much. Should the ones with the most features be calling something else rather than sports?
  • Did you know that Philippines is so poor that if you own a car people will think you're rich? I live in the Philippines and I own a 2013 Honda Fit and I sometimes drive it when I go to the University, it's not even expensive. And my friends think I'm rich. Most people here only use underbone motorcycles for transportation, most families don't even own a car.
  • What car is better and will last longer? Mazda 6 '08 vs Honda Civic '06? I currently have a Honda 06 with about 104,000 miles on it and my mom said I can either keep my Honda or take her Mazda 6 with around 80,000 miles on it. Now I know that the Mazda has less mileage but I hear that Hondas will last forever. I want my car to last me for at least a couple more years maybe 10 if I'm lucky. I don't drive far at all either. What car is a better choice for the long run?
