Is it illegal to sell a car with bad brakes?
My neighbor wants to sell his 2006 Honda accord but the brakes are bad and he dosen't have the money to fix them. I'm just wondering if that's illegal or can he just disclose it and sell it for a really cheap price
Those breaks are cheap. Sell it as is.
It can be sold 'as-is' … I'm sure anyone test driving it will notice if the brakes don't work lol.
As long as he tells the buyer I see no problem. Make sure to get it in writing that the buyer knows about it. Many people sell junk cars where nothing works.
He can just disclose it if he would like or he can't disclose it and sell it "as is", which will shift the burden of inspection to the Buyer.

As long as he tells you the car has breaks or sells you the car is sold "as is" then it is totally legal. If the car is offered "as is" it would be up to you to have the car checked by a mechanic check out the car before you buy it.
No. You can sell a car in any condition. The buyer should inspect it and decide whether they want to make the repairs. Some people buy undrivable cars merely for the parts so they can use them in another vehicle. Some buy poor condition cars, repair them and turn them over for profit.
