Is it okay if my Honda Accord's low oil light comes on when I twist the key before turning it on but turn off after I start the car?

Normal - indicator lights are supposed to come on at first turn on to check that they work. Note: that is probably a low oil PRESSURE light not an oil level light. Check your oil level regularly with the dip stick. Get someone to show you how to perform routine checks for fluid levels, tyre pressure etc. Your car will last longer & be safer to drive

That's normal, dumbass. The engine has no oil pressure when it's not running.

Most of your lights should turn on to show they're working right when you turn the car on. If others aren't turning on that's actually the problem.

Yes it's OK. All the warning lamps should illuminate at the "Accessories" key position as a visual check that the sensors and bulbs are functioning. They should all go out as soon as the engine is started. BTW the Oil light measures <pressure> not level. Check the level regularly.

Key ON, engine OFF, oil light should be ON. Key ON, engine running, oil light should be OFF. If it is ON when the engine is running, shut the engine down.

Yes. That's what is supposed to happen.

That's the way the vehicle is designed. It's telling you there's no oil pressure while the engine is NOT running. If you do not see the light come on with the engine off, you know there's a problem either with the bulb or some other part of the low oil pressure warning system.

All vehicles have the oil light and other warning lights come on when the key is turned to the ON position. That's the bulb check.
Always check the oil level on the dipstick if there's any question about the oil warning light coming on.

Yes thsts normal
