Is this car deal good or should I negotiate more?

I went to Honda to look at a certified pre-owned, 26k miles 2014 accord sport for $17,400… Great car… Got them to bring it down to $17,000…

Now I notice on their site (while i was there) there was another 2014 accord with 17k miles(certified pre owned) selling for $500 more… I wonder why it was ONLY selling for $500 more! That's 9k in miles difference.

I was told apparently retail price of the vehicle and how much it takes to certify their vehicles determine the final asking price (the 26k miles accord retail price was 21,000 vs this one had a sticker of about 19,500)…

So at this point i'm focused on the 17k mile car… I got them to even drop the price to 17k (what they offered me for the 26k mile car)… Is that a good deal? Reminder both are certified vehicles… I just don't understand fully why they would want to sell a car with less miles for less…

Thoughts? Depends what they paid for it at auction, or if it is an ex demonstrator, Honda will have paid them (subsidy) to use it as a demo, and it would have cost less than cost, so they effectively have more to play with when setting the sell price. Or the car may be a lower spec model, or the salesman use it as bait to get people like you into the shop so they can attempt to upsell. Lots of possible reasons. Both cars should still have some warranty and with those miles, it really will not matter which you go for. D It depends on the residual value of the car to the dealer. They may not have had as much in it. I would avoid any certified car. Its overkill. You should already have a factory warranty. You can't compare two cars by only their make, model, age, and mileage. Every used car is different. They can have different equipment and options, different problems, different wreck/repair status, different engines, different wear, different condition, different everything. Buy

  • Motorcycle dealer does not want to negotiate? Should I pass? Trying to buy a 2015 honda pcx150. I've called 2 dealers who both only want me to pay full MSRP + TTL + Fees. Why are they so reluctant to negotiate? I'm a cash buyer. What is their problem? Should I just pass and maybe wait until the winter starts to hit and maybe then they would be more willing to negotiate?
  • Is $600 a good deal for 1993 Honda xr100? I'm 17 and looking for a good bike to start with. Have road a few time before, but nothing serious. So good deal or not?
  • How can I negotiate a 2 year old car model? I'm in the market to buy a new car but I saw the new 2018 Honda Fit are out. I also saw the dealership had a 2016 Honda Fit LX, it is priced at 16k. If a new 2018 Honda Fit with Honda sensing standard starts at 16k, how much should I even get a 2016 base model with no Honda sensing? I know 16k for a 2 year old Model is crazy but what's the lowest can I negotiate for? 10k? 12k?
  • 2008 Honda Fit with 66,000 miles on it for $5,000? Is this a good deal? I need to buy a new car and today I got an offer on a 2008 Honda Fit with 66,000 miles on it for $5,000. I'm a 19 year old girl and I know nothing about cars D: Are Honda Fits good cars? Should I buy this with so many miles already on it? Also, I like to travel. Will this car be safe to drive long distances?
