Looking at cars and noticed some pics of the 2018 Honda Accord show no gear shifter while others do. Can someone explain this? Confused?

Some of these cars appear to have no shifter at all in the pics i've seen While others have the normal, between the seats gear shifter than has been pretty standard for 30+ years. Do you shift these cars some other way(the ones that don't have it)? Is it like a Jaguar where the controls are hidden until you turn the car on(at which point they pop up)? Or what

Hi so you have a lot to learn automatic does not use a stick shift. Nor does a flappy paddle gear shift./

You are correct. There's no shifter handle as we know it for the automatic transmission model. Push buttons replace the traditional shifter. The ones with the shifter is the manual transmission model.

Honda's website could probably answer this pretty quick for ya; perhaps thats the place to find info about a honda…

No shifter means it is going to be automatic transmission and very likely hybrid.

Maybe you should look at the photo closer. It clearly shows buttons with a P and an R and an N and a D on them. Can you guess what those letters stand for?
