My 2011 Honda Accord Coupe has a whining noise while I'm accelerating. It will make that noise when driving or in park?

Can anyone tell me what this could be and possibly a solution? One mechanic told me a cracked power steering tank, but when I went to get it fixed they said power steering was fine.

If you have a CVT transmission, it could be "CVT whine".

Changing the transmission fluid may help. However, with some cars a certain amount of CVT whine is considered "normal". Regardless, the trans fluid should be changed periodically.

Possible transmission torque converter. Find local shop at ATRA.COM for them to diagnosis it

Open the hood. If the noise is coming from the motor it may be a bad alternator bearing or the power steering pump is making noise. Use a large screw driver. Put the tip of the screwdriver to the alternator and the handle to you ear. If it's loud the alternator needs replacing. Try the same technique on the PS pump.

Hi so all this combined with worn bearings in the gearbox.
